Cathy's Scrappy Christmas Evergreen Pine Tree Quilt

Another quilt made by Cathy. For this one I bought a new pantograph from Urban Elementz called Tree Top, one I’ve had my eye on for a long time. The cool gray 3 Glide thread blended well with the colors and as I quilted it, I decided I didn’t just like this pantograph, I love it!

I told Cathy how much fun it was to quilt and she said she had another very similar to it that she will bring to me next time she’s in town. Woo Hoo!

Floating Hexagon Quilt Queen and Baby/Lap Quilt, Spectrum, Rainbow, Scrap, Enchanted Garden by Ramona Sorensen, Love of Quilting

The pattern "Enchanted Garden" by Ramona Sorensen, is found in the "Love of Quilting" March/April 2021 magazine. I made some modifications to the pattern (changing the size of the hexagons, color placement, as well as changing the square to a rectangle), but the idea is all hers.

I try to work on my own projects, at least a little each month. Here was my Jan-Mar 2025 projects. It's not quilted yet. That will wait until the grandchild that get it is more than a twinkle in their parents’ eyes. I try to keep a selection for them to choose from and had 2 grandchildren born last year so I need to replenish my stock. A queen size and a baby/toddler size.

Emmanuel Auction Quilt 2025

I made this I-Spy quilt to be auctioned off at the Emmanuel Preschool Carnival on 3 May 2025. I am really proud of the layout of the squares in this one - how the colors flow from one to the next and with the dark on the outer edges and the light on the inside.

I quilted it with white Glide thread using free motion swirls and loops and with ruler work for the diamonds in the blue borders.

It's always a thrill to me when my quilts are reposted by APQS. Here's what they said. I wish I were that eloquent when writing my blurbs about the quilts.

Sue's Misty Pines 2.0 Green, Brown, White Quilt

Sue made this beautiful Misty Pines 2.0 quilt.

She debated a few quilting designs, and opted for the one she knew she would love, “Maureen’s Wandering Leaves” from Urban Elementz.

I used Thyme Glide on the top and Mossy Glide 60 on the back. Comparing the pictures above and below, it's fun to see how the same thread looks different on the different colors.

She makes a charming quilt label for her quilts.

Purple, Pink, White Charity Quilt with Custom Quilting

This is a quilt I made and custom quilted (ruler work and freehand) for charity.

I used cool gray 3 Glide/Glide 60 thread.

I wish I had switched to a purple/lavender thread for the purple boarder, but I didn’t and I’m not redoing it.
😁

The back is pieced - like two quilts in one.

Closer view of the quilting on the back.
