Window Seat Cushions for MaryLynne

A friend of mine, MaryLynne, asked me to finish covering the cushions she had begun years ago for her window seats.  She's a seamstress, so she was perfectly capable of doing it herself, but after so long, and needing to get her house ready to possibly sell, she asked me to finish them up for her.  Here you see them all in place.

Tropical Madness Border Dress

One of the last dresses I made for Trenna this past month is this fun dress, sewn from Michael Miller's Tropical Madness Border fabric.  The pattern is from New Look (#0983). We varied the pattern to be straight at the bottom, but without the ruffle.  It was a little longer than just leaving off the ruffle from image "B" so as to incorporate all of the fabric.  A very small hem was used so, again, more of the fabric could be seen.

Monica's Prom Dress

Monica's prom was Friday, April 25th.  The Sunday before, a friend at church asked Monica if she was nervous that I hadn't even started the dress yet.  No, was her answer.  I guess she'd seen me crank out dresses pretty fast.  That weekend, I was still sewing for Trenna and would have to have all Trenna's stuff done by a Tuesday shoot, so Monday, I couldn't start on her dress.  Tuesday, I began.  I have in my mind that it took me 18 hours total to make this, but the difficulty was that Monica was at school all day, so trying things on had to wait until she got home, but once everyone's home, I can't do any sewing.  I did the bodice Tuesday, but had to wait until after school for her to try it on. Sure enough, there was some changes that had to be made.  It took almost as long to "fix" it as it did to sew it together in the first place.  Long story short, it was done in time, but I wish I had had a few more hours.  The sash was a little tight, and I would have liked to make a new one, but, oh well.

Creeper Duvet

Here is a duvet cover that I was asked to put a "creeper" on.  It's appliqued on.

Floralicious and Black Dress

Remember the pink Floralicious dress I made for Trenna?  Michael Miller came out with the same print with a black background.  I like it better, but then again, I've always liked black as my neutral color.  Here is a dress I made - whipped it out in less than a day, it's not hard.

They gave me two patterns to choose from, and although the numbers are the same, the patterns and instructions are identical.  Take your pick.  An easy pattern by Simplicity.
